Written While Building Mini Shop — a Lightweight WordPress eCommerce Plugin
·
1 min read
Most WordPress plugins don’t start with a grand roadmap. They start with friction. Mini Shop started that way too. I wasn’t trying to build “another eCommerce platform.” I was trying to solve a very specific problem: selling simple products on WordPress without inheriting unnecessary complexity. This post is a snapshot of the thinking, trade-offs, and lessons
Founder note
Why Kitbix exists
Kitbix is my long-term bet that calm, fast WordPress products win. I’m building in the open: sharing the experiments, the missteps, and the things that ship. Mini Shop is the first piece—a tiny, performant store engine that doesn’t hijack your dashboard.
The writing keeps me accountable. The plugins stay lean. Together they form a studio that values clarity over funnels, and relationships over hype.
Newsletter
Slow, honest updates—no funnels.
A monthly letter on Mini Shop, WordPress performance experiments, and what’s working. Keep it for the craft, unsubscribe when it’s noise.
